Ho, July 11, GNA - Members of the Ho Polytechnic branch of the Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana (POTAG) on Thursday resolved to withdraw academic services.
A press release on Friday said the action became necessary because the government had failed to honour its part of the agreement to pay 17 per cent salary increment to the Polytechnic staff pending a final solution of the salary issues to be implemented in the third quarter of this year.
It said the action of government was contrary to the spirit of the agreement reached with POTAG on May 13, this year.
The release signed by Mr Simon Avorgah, Secretary, said: "We are going through a lot of hardships and cannot continue to work. Our patience has run out hence this action to resume the suspended industrial action until the government hours its part of the bargain."
It assured the students and the general public that every thing possible would be done to protect their interest.
