At the close of the two-hour tour the pupils wanted to know, among others why water, an essential commodity, was not free and also if there was the possibility of a private company entering the business of providing water for the people.
Mr Philip Dwamena-Boateng, Volta Regional Production Manager of the Ghana Water Company said clean water was expensive to produce and hardly free in any country. He said productions structures could be varied for private companies to enter the potable water business. Mr Dwamena-Boateng stressed that water was not a limitless resource despite the large space it occupied on the universe and therefore must be used with a lot of circumspection.
