The Asogli Traditional Area is set to launch the 2024 Tezã (Yam festival) on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, in Ho.
The Traditional Council has already issued a ban on noise-making and funeral activities throughout the Asogli Traditional Area.
This is to pave the way for the celebration, as customs demand.
As usual, this year's celebration will be marked with numerous entertaining activities, including a football gala, mountain hiking, a health walk, a street carnival, church services, and a public lecture.
Attendees will also be treated to performances from traditional warriors, other sports events, a trip to Togo (note), and the hailing of this year's cultivated yam.
Togbe Dzomatsi I of Ho Bankoe said this year's celebration is expected to bring further development and benefit to individuals, families, and the Ho enclave at large.
He said families are expected to reunite, and the city is expected to host hundreds of visitors from the diaspora and other parts of the country.
He, however, urged citizens of Ho, both at home and abroad, to attend the festival and also asked tourists to visit the region to enjoy its serenity.
Last year's celebration was held alongside the Agbogbomefia of Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV's 20th anniversary.
