The Member of Parliament (MP) for Hohoe Constituency, Dr Bernice Adiku Heloo, has said there is the need for all stakeholders and concerned citizens of the country to support students who are in need of education.
Such a gesture, she indicated, could help fight poverty as the prospective students, upon completion of school, would help in the economic development of the country.
The MP for Hohoe, who is also the Deputy Minister of Environment, Science and Technology, made the observation when she disbursed an GH¢18,800.00 scholarship package to 60 students from tertiary and senior high institutions in the Hohoe Constituency in the Volta Region.
The cost of the package was met with part of the allocation from the MP’s Common Fund for the 2014/2015 academic year.
She also used part of her fund to construct a six-unit classroom block with toilets, stores and headmaster’s office at Likpe Agbozume in the Hohoe District.
