Hospital patients register

Mon, 29 Mar 2004 Source: GNA

Ho, March 29, GNA - The registration of patients on admission at both Regional and District Hospitals in Ho began on Sunday. So far a total of 40 eligible voters have been registered at both hospitals according to figures made available to the Ghana News Agency at the GBC Revenue Office registration centre near the District Hospital and Avatidome "B" centre near the Regional Hospital.

Mr Frank Dzandu, Registration Officer at the GBC Revenue Office centre told Mr Mohamed Adoquaye, Volta Regional Director of the EC that the registration of patients at the hospital was cumbersome as most of them could not readily provide the information required from them. He said the condition of most patients also made it impossible to have them registered.

The Registration Officials at the Avatidome Centre who were to register eligible voters on admission at the Regional Hospital said they could not continue with the registration for the same reasons stated by their colleagues covering the District Hospital. Meanwhile the anticipated rush by eligible voters to beat the deadline for the close of registration on Monday, March 29 was absent at 10 registration centres visited by the GNA in the Ho township.
