Executives, club officials and players of the Ghana Beach Soccer Association turned up in their numbers to take part in the association's traditional pre-season clean up/sanitation exercise on Monday 20th July.
This year's exercise which recorded the highest turnout so far was also attended and supported by the 2014-2015 Miss Tourism Ghana Naa Teidy Ofori, members of the Ghana Beach Volley national team as well as a huge media presence.
The 'sanitation storm' was organised in partnership with the La Dade Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA), the La Traditional Council, Laboma Beach Resort, Coca Cola, Voltic and CAL Bank.
The beach soccer arena which was hit by three tidal waves during the storms of June 3rd this year was thoroughly cleaned making it about 80% ready for the start of the 2015 beach soccer league scheduled to kickoff on Saturday 25th July.
President of the GBSA, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, expressed his gratitude and surprise at the turn out and promised to replicate the exercise on a regular basis.
" This year's turnout has been massive and inspiring. I wish to thank all our partners and sponsors for turning out in their numbers to make this exercise a huge success.
The commitment shown by participants this year has printed the GBSA to organise another cleanup exercise sooner rather than later".
Meanwhile, the GBSA has confirmed that the association will have its pre-season congress on Friday 24th July to confirm new appointments in the association as well as conclude on other official matters to pave way for the start of the 16team league season.
Beach Soccer league highlights would be shown on Dstv Supersports Blitz for the first time and on Beach Soccer TV via domestic tv platforms.
