The Member of Parliament (MP) for Prestea Huni/Valley, Mr Francis Adu-Blay Koffie, has presented 30 laptops, 30 desktop computers with Uninterruptible Power Supply device and a mower to five institutions in his constituency.
The computers were made available by the government while the MP used GH¢ 4,700.00 from his share of the District Assemblies, Common Fund to purchase the mower and nine boxes of chalk.
Prestea Secondary Technical, Bogoso Saint Augustine’s Senior High School, Bogoso District Assembly, Prestea Methodist, and Aboso English Islamic basic schools were among the institutions that benefitted from the package.
Twenty other schools benefiting under the school feeding programme received the boxes of chalk.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Mr Koffie said the aim was to enhance the teaching and learning of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the various levels of education.
He said since ICT is a major subject studied in all schools, government had seen the need to increase access to the use of computer throughout the country.
The Headmistress of Prestea Senior Technical School, Madam Veronica Akua Quaison, expressed gratitude to the MP and government for the kind gesture.
