Some youth in the Asokore Mampong municipal assembly have called on leadership at the Assembly to as a matter of urgency include them in decision making.

According to them, the municipal is old age led which makes decisions unfavorable to today's generation.

One of them, Haruna Barikisu, wants the assembly to consider their views, especially on issues affecting women.

At the "No Business As Usual Hub" workshop for young men and women within the municipality, they deliberated on Governance and raised issues on the exclusion of youth from policymaking, and governments decisions, sometimes, to abandon projects started by their predecessors based on political reasons best known to them.

They want authorities to take a second look at some concerns raised by them for effective governance.

Adding his voice to the issue, Jackson Kubagma, another participant wants government to address challenges in the tourism sector.

He suggests local authority in collaboration with relevant stakeholders should modernize Ghana’s tourism sites to meet UNESCO World Heritage Site standard.

Executive Director of NEYOD, Mr. Hilton Terry Kessie, describes the 2018's unimplemented youth policy as “long overdue”.

According to him, the majority of youth in the country do not know the existence of youth policy which makes it more tedious to push for its implementation.
