India donates two motorbikes to New Juabeng North Constituency

Accra, Sept. 23, GNA - The India High Commission on Tuesday donated two motorbikes valued at 20 million cedis to the New Juabeng North Constituency through Mr Hackman Owusu-Agyeman MP for the area.

Mr. Owusu Agyeman, Minister of the Interior, who received the donation, said the motorbikes would help reach out to people in the hinterland by social workers to explain national issues to enhance the decentralization process.

He said HIV/AIDS Peer Educators would also use the motorbikes to accelerate their educational programmes.

Mr Owusu-Agyeman commended the High Commissioner for sustaining the bilateral relationship between Ghana and India and called for more collaboration on decentralization, information technology transfer and democratic governance.

Mr. Kaikhosrou K. Framji, the High Commissioner said the donation was to strengthen south/south cooperation between the two countries. He commended Ghana for deepening its democratic culture as well as championing peace initiative in the West African sub-region.
