Tamale, Jan.17, GNA - Mr Akamboe Ayirebasia, Northern Regional Information Officer, has called on the staff of the Information Services Department (ISD) to improve on the image-building process for the development of all Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

He, therefore, charged the staff to work assiduously to facilitate the smooth implementation of Government policies and programmes while efforts were being made to improve their working conditions.

He said: "Let us remain united and resolve to improve our performance at all levels as part of our contribution to the national development effort."

Mr Ayirebasia was speaking at an end of year get-together organised for the Regional and District Staff of ISD on Sunday to socialise and review their performance for the year and make projections for the future in Tamale.

The Regional Officer called for the establishment of regional and district welfare funds to supplement what the national welfare fund offered to the staff.

Mr. Alhassan Imoru, Northern Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), urged the staff to work as a team to promote national unity and not to allow their political affiliations to divide their ranks.

He reminded them of the fragile peace in some parts of the Region and asked them to be conscious about what they did in the performance of their duties.

Staff members who distinguished themselves in the performance of their duties received awards.
