Inhabitants raise 32 million cedis for electricity

Adams Town (B/A), June 23, GNA- The people of Adams town in Nsoatre in Brong-Ahafo have raised 32 million cedis to purchase low-tension poles for electrification project.

Mr. Barnabas Frimpong, Assembly Member, in an interview with Ghana News Agency on Tuesday said lack of electricity in the area affected developments in the community.

He said the standard of education would be improved while crime wave would decrease if electricity was extended to the area. Mr. Frimpong appealed for financial assistance from the government, organizations and individuals to enable the people to buy cement and iron rods to mould concrete poles to supplement what they had obtained.

He said out of the 100 poles required for the project the community had provided 30 but commended Nana Kwadwo Seinti, Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, and Mr. Kwadwo Adjei Darko, MP for the area and Minister of Local Government and Rural Development for donating one million and five million cedis respectively towards the project. 23 June 04
