Techiman (B/A), July 16, GNA- Dr. King David Amoah, National Coordinator of Ecumenical Association for Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development (ECASARD) has called on members to reflect on what they have been able to achieve and plan ahead. He said the 13 years of operations of ECASARD in the country should inspire members to improve on skills being offered them.
Dr. Amoah made the call at a three-day residential workshop on organizational self-assessment and institutional development for 40 participants drawn from the Central and Brong Ahafo Regions at Techiman. The workshop was organized by ECASARD and was aimed at tackling the Organizational and institutional development of ECASARD.
Nana Kwaw Adams, National Chairman of ECASARD said the organisation would, for the next three years embark on the creation of a strong force for farmers at the district, regional and national levels to lobby the authorities for favourable policies on organic agriculture.
Nana Adams who is also Twafohene of Forikrom of Techiman Traditional Area said ECASARD was also organizing an assessment exercise to enhance its members to serve and to reflect on their strengths and weaknesses.
Dr. Pascal Atengdem, a lecturer at the University of Ghana and a resource person, urged farmers who had been trained as organizers of ECASARD for acquisition of skills to reciprocate the gesture by offering such technology to their members for sustainable agriculture in their various organizations.
