Interior Ministry renews curfew in Bunkprugu township

The Ministry of the Interior upon the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council, (RCC) and by Executive Instrument, has renewed the curfew in Bunkprugu Township from 20:00 hours to 06:00 hours effective Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

A statement signed by the Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery is urging the chiefs, opinion leaders, the youth and the people to exercise restraint in the face of challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to ensure peace in the area.

The statement reminded the people of the total ban on carrying, arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons and that any persons found with such weapons would be arrested and prosecuted.

In a separate statement, the Interior Ministry has also upon the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council, (RCC) and by Executive Instrument renewed the curfew in Bimbilla Township from 22:00 hours to 04:00 hours effective from Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

The Minister, Ambrose Dery has therefore, advised the chiefs, opinion leaders, the youth and the people to exercise restraint in the face of challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to bring peace to the area.

The statement reiterated the total ban on carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons and that any persons found with weapons would be arrested and prosecuted.
