Muslims in the country have been urged to make the education of their children a priority as a way of securing their future.
Securing the future of children, the Fulani chief of Ashaiman, Alhaji Iddrissa Yussuf, said is very important and hence advised Muslim parents to endeavour to ensure their wards have a good education.
“The future belongs to those who seize it now and plan towards it, we as Muslims can never have a share in the future if we do not invest in it now…,”Alhaji Iddrissa advised in an interview with this reporter.
Since his installation as the Fulani Chief of the Ashaiman community, some months ago, Alhaji Iddrissa has supervised over a peaceful community where the Fulani people live in peace with other members of the metropolitan community.
He has also promised to ensure that the Fulani tribe in Ghana gets themselves educated and compete with their fellows in other West African countries including Nigeria.
And it is in the light of this, that the dynamic local chief is calling on fellow Muslims and his tribesmen especially, to take advantage of the existing structures in the country and get their wards educated for a brighter future.
“We cannot blame anyone for our misfortunes tomorrow if we don’t take advantage of the opportunities today and school our children…,” Alhaji Iddrissa said. Courses in the Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), he continued should be given a major priority as the technology rules the world.
Against this backdrop, Alhaji Iddrissa added his voice to calls for parents to try to get computers for their households so that their children can learn the subject at a faster rate and be part of the global competition.
