Founder and Proprietress of Cherryfield Montessori School in the Greater Accra region, Mrs. Magdalene Dzifa Atiase, has called on parents to make it a duty to invest in their children’s education.

According to her, any investment in education though, for now, may seem painful, will bear good fruits in the near future.

“If parents want to reap bountifully in the near future they must not get tired of investing in their children’s education,” she advised.

Speaking on the theme; “Children, Our Future Leaders,” at the school’s first Graduation, Speech and Prize Giving Day, Mrs. Atiase said parents and guardians should learn to save money for their children’s education.

That, she said, would help give the children a sound educational foundation.

Cherryfield Montessori School is a privately-owned school located at ACP Junction in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra region.

From a humble beginning of two kids and two teachers in 2013, the school currently has a population of about one hundred and fifty (150) pupils, twenty six (26) teaching and non-teaching staff, an ultra-modern computer laboratory, school buses, conducive and spacious environment for study as well as other entertainment facilities.

The event was graced with the presence of deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie.

In all six (6) pupils were promoted from KG2 to Class One.

The deputy minister of tourism, culture and creative arts pointed out that government was doing all that it could to ensure that Ghanaian children get the necessary education to guarantee them a bright future.

The chairman for the occasion, Mr. David Sifah, advised parents to desist from the habit of leaving their wards under the care of house helps and rather make time for their children.

That, in the opinion of Mr. Sifah, would help prevent the situation where all manner of maltreatment(s) are meted out to the children by house helps.

Mr. and Mrs. Baah who were the first parents to enroll their children in the school also attended the event.

Several choreographies were performed. And these included dancing, culture display, recital of poems, drumming among others.
