Takoradi, Aug 05, GNA - Mr Kwame Gyasi, Acting Western Regional Manager of the Ghana Tourist Board (GTB), on Friday called on private investors to build washrooms along highways to support the country's tourism drive.
He made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Takoradi.
Mr Gyasi said washrooms are lacking in many parts of the country and this is a drawback to tourism.
''Washroom facilities will be valuable on the Takoradi-Elubo and Takoradi-Tarkwa roads where a lot tourists travel as well as in border communities.''
Mr Gyasi said the GTB would assist investors who want to go into that venture and help train their staff. He said the board is assisting a private investor to develop a community based eco-tourism project at Butre in the Ahanta West District. The investor would put up both foreign and African style accommodation with local building materials.
