The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Kwadwo Afram-Asiedu, commended the members of the Assembly for showing maturity by voting massively for Mr Sam. He reminded them that for the new assembly to succeed and make any meaningful impact on their lives, it was important that those appointed or elected to handle the day to day administration of the assembly must be people with proven integrity and competence. He advised them to eschew back-biting and rather support the District Chief Executive to discharge his duties effectively to fast track the development agenda of the district. Mr Afram-Asiedu cautioned the new DCE to embrace everybody to ensure unity and be transparent in all his dealings. The DCE was later sworn into office by the Asesewa Circuit Court Judge, Justice Kwasi Asiedu Asmah. 21 March 08
