As part of efforts to improving infrastructure and development the John Sanie Foundation has donated 200 street lights to various towns and villages in the Mpohor district.
The complete sets of street lights covered all the thirteen (13) electoral areas within the Mpohor constituency.
The donation was made in line with JS Foundation's commitment to solving the issue of poor lighting in the district. Many street lights in these areas were either dilapidated or non-existing.
At the handing-over ceremony in Mpohor, all thirteen assembly members from each electoral area received between 14 and 16 street lights on behalf of their communities. Unit committee members were also present to express their gratitude.
They also expressed appreciation to John Sanie, CEO of the Foundation, for the timely gesture, which invariably will improve the lighting system in various constituencies.
They singled out the JS Foundation and its CEO for the continuous extension of developmental projects across the entire district, and how the people are appreciative.
Mr. John Sanie, CEO of the Foundation, reiterated his commitment to the development of Mpohor District, and urged the community leaders to facilitate proper maintenance culture in managing the street lights and other facilities in their communities.
"Maintenance is always a key element for sustainable development", John Sanie told them.
To kickstart the initiative, some of the street lights in Mpohor were fixed amidst jubilation, fanfare, and appreciation.
