Jomoro Deputy DCD killed in road accident

Takoradi, Oct. 5, GNA - Mr William Derry, Deputy District Coordinating Director for Jomoro in the Western Region died on the spot when the vehicle on which he was travelling with Mr Martin Yamikeh Ackah, District Chief Executive (DCE), was involved in an accident at Ahobre Junction on Sunday.

Mr Yamikeh, who was injured and was taken to the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GHAPOHA) Hospital in Takoradi, was responding to treatment, officials at the hospital said.

An eye witness told the Ghana News Agency in Takoradi that a Mitsubishi Pajero vehicle with registration number WR 4859 C on which the two were travelling run over a heap of sand by the road. The vehicle, which was being driven by the DCE, somersaulted and hit a palm tree the eyewitness said.
