Deputy Minister Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs and Member of Parliament (MP) for Jomoro constituency of the Western Region, Paul Essien has pledged to create jobs for the unemployed youth his constituency.
Addressing over thousand NPP supporters and sympathizers during the Jomoro NPP delegates conference at Mpataba, Hon Paul Essien said almost 200 of the youth from the area have been employed in the agricultural sector since he won the seat.
The Lawmaker disclosed that another batch of 427 from the District would soon be employed in various sectors.
He added that he has started working to change the fortunes of the people in the constituency by employing 20 teachers to teach more than 400 students under his remedial classes project, which is organized for SHS graduates who have not been able secure credits in some subjects in order to enter university or other tertiary institutions.
“My aim is to help these people to better their grades so that their living standard will be improved in the future”, he revealed.
The lawmaker also announced that under the Ministry of Communications, a Digital Satellite is to be planted in one town in each constituency and Elubo in the Jomoro District have been chosen for the project.
