The Common Fund Administrator, Mr. Kojo Fynn, has emphasized the need for stakeholders to sacrifice and supplement government efforts in the educational sector to enhance teaching and learning.

Mr. Fynn made the call at a formal foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of the Jubilee Hall Complex project at the Breman Asikuma Senor High School.

He said the youth are the future human resource of the country and so they need to acquire the requisite knowledge and skills to function effectively and efficiently. He reiterated that it was necessary to create a conducive environment for them to learn.

He commended the founding fathers of the school for their foresight in establishing the school in 1964, but said it was unfortunate that the only dining hall of the school is also used for other activities such as a centre for both WASSEC and BECE examinations, as well as for other social gatherings.

The Common Fund Administrator said it was laudable that the construction of the school’s hall complex by the Authorities and the Parent Teacher Association coincides with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the school.”

Mr. Fynn said the project is estimated to cost GHC1.76 Million and, therefore, appealed to all and sundry to contribute their quota towards the construction.

Madam Sabina Sylvia Forson, Headmistress of the school, disclosed that the ceremony was also to showcase what they are doing and to raise funds to complete on-going projects especially the complex hall to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the school in November, this year.

She said the project will go a long way to help promote teaching and learning in the school and that they were looking forward to receiving the needed support from all who have the school at heart.

Very Rev. Emmanuel Ebo Walters, Superintendent Minister of the Breman Asikuma Circuit of the Winneba Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana later laid a foundation to officially commence the construction of the Jubilee Hall Complex of the school

Among the personalities at the ceremony were Madam Georgina Nkrumah Aboah, Member of Parliament for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa district, Mr. Samuel Adom Botchwah, District Chief Executive for the area. Also at the ceremony were the old boys and girls of the school.
