A 13-member reconstituted Board of Governors of the Keta Senior High Technical School (KETASCO) in the Volta Region, has been inaugurated.
It is chaired by Mr. Asiwome Kwaku Agbenyega, Businessman and a Past Student of the School, and would serve for a term of three years.
Ms. Enyonam Afi Amafuga, the Regional Director of Education, urged the members to use their diverse skills and experiences to promote the growth of the school.
She asked that the Board submitted annual reports covering all aspects of the school to the Ghana Education Service (GES) Council.
She reminded the teachers to be regular, punctual and to make effective use of the contact hours.
Parents should also not to shirk their responsibilities because of the free Senior High School programme.
“Parents must buy elective textbooks and supplementary readers for their wards,” she added.
Mr. FCK Agbakey, the Headmaster, appealed for the construction of an assembly hall and expansion of the dining hall to cater for the about 3,0000 student population.
He also called for the building of additional bungalows to help address the housing problems faced by the staff.
Mr. Agbenyega expressed gratitude to members of the old Board for their meritorious service to the school.
He vowed not to tolerate any acts of indiscipline and urged both teachers and students, to put up good behaviour.
