Kumasi, Dec. 1, GNA - The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has vo= wed to sustain its decongestion exercise launched to clear the streets and pavements of hawkers It has, therefore, warned traders and commercial drivers, who would=
want to take advantage of the Christmas festivities to test the assembly'= s resolve to rethink their action.
A statement signed by Clement Kegeri of the Public Relations Office=
said the KMA was not prepared to relax the strict enforcement of its by-laws. It also cautioned the public to be wary of the activities of crimin= als hiding behind the decongestion exercise to extort money from unsuspecting=
traders. The statement said such people should be reported to the appropriat= e authorities for the law to deal with them.
It said already one of such miscreants, Eric Kwame, has been caught=
