Kumasi, June 25, GNA - Fourteen workers of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), have completed a 12-week intensive communication skills programme in French at the Alliance Francaise in Kumasi. This is the second batch of workers from the KMA, who have benefited from such programme initiated by Mr Maxwell Kofi Jumah, former Chief Executive of the assembly as a way to strengthen the friendship the assembly established with Togo and Treichville in Cote d'Ivoire last year.
The occasion also saw the presentation of certificates to some bi-lingual secretaries and diplomats. Speaking at the function on Friday, Mr Olivier Benoit, Director of the Alliance Francaise, commended the graduates for their performance and hoped that the knowledge acquired will help them to brighten their future. He said the new academic year will start in September and that both francophone and Anglophone were welcome to take advantage of the French education programme of the office.
The Alliance Francaise has offices in over 1,000 countries worldwide and t is a network sponsored by the French Embassy. Mr Benoit said the diploma course offered by the Alliance Francaise is of international value and stressed that any organisation, company or individual could benefit from its programme.
