Drivers plying on the Kasoa Cape Coast highway have expressed their frustration at the poor nature of the road.

The drivers who spoke to Rainbow Radio’s Nana Yaw Asare, bemoaned the damage the poor nature of the road is having on their vehicles.

According to the angry drivers, the road has developed potholes making it difficult for the movement of vehicles and thereby creating unnecessary traffic.

The drivers have since bought chippings and sawdust to fill the potholes temporarily but have stressed the need for government to repair the road to facilitate their movement.

‘’The potholes are huge and destroying our vehicles and that is why we have purchased the chippings and other materials to fill the holes temporarily. It is creating unnecessary traffic. We are appealing to authorities to repair the road to facilitate our movement,’’ a driver by name Paa Kwesi said.

Another driver said: ‘’ this is dangerous. A driver nearly had an accident few days ago. The chippings and sawdust are very expensive but we have managed to raise money to purchase some to fill the potholes temporarily. We have the highways ministry. They have to come and repair the road. What we have done is a temporal solution but we need a permanent solution’’ another driver said.
