Kasoa police says public support yielding good results

Kasoa (C/R) March 22, GNA - The Kasoa District Police Headquarters has expressed gratitude to the people of the area for giving police informati= on that had led to the arrest of criminals operating in the area. The Kasoa District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Polic= e Jordan Quaye, said in a statement that on February 26, armed robbers attacked a lady and robbed her of her mobile phone and some money. But on March 03 people gave police a tip off and a suspect, one Shaib= u, was arrested and the phone was recovered. He said on February 26, armed robbers took a taxi from its driver bu= t it was recovered at Apam Junction by the Police. Mr Quaye said the suspects are all in custody. He said on March 4 two armed robbers, using an unlicensed motor bike, robbed an internet caf=E9 of three laptop computers and attempted escapin= g on their bike. He said the robbers used a toy pistol but were blocked on the way by= some "adventurous civilians" who later called in the Kasoa Police. Mr Quaye said two suspects Kofi Abduali and Kwame Asempa aged betwee= n 26 and 30 respectively, later admitted the offence. He said he was not happy that the two suspects were severely beaten before they were handed over to the police and appealed to the public to desist from such acts.
