Madam Joyce Aidoo, Gomoa District Chief Executive (DCE), has directed that heaps of refuse at the Liberian Refugee Camp at Bunduburam be removed and the surroundings kept tidy to avoid an epidemic.

Speaking during a visit she called for an immediate halt to the construction of unauthorised structures, most of which had blocked access roads.

The DCE advised prospective developers to contact the District Administration for building permits and other documents before embarking on their projects.

Madam Aidoo told the refugees "we love and cherish your presence here, so endeavor to join hands with the Chiefs and people of Buduburam to plan development projects to enhance your living standards".

Meanwhile, Nana Kojo Essel II, Chief of the town and a former sand, stone contractor has released an earth moving equipment free of charge to help clear refuse dumps at Buduburam and along the road to Kasoa.

He said his gesture was in support of the DCE's initiative to ensure peace and unity in the area.

Nana Essel said a task force would be formed soon to ensure sanitation, adding that, offenders would be arraigned before the courts, to serve as deterrent.
