Keta District Assembly gets new DCE

Keta, Nov 10, GNA - The Keta District Assembly on Wednesday endorsed Mr Edward Kofi Ahiabor, 41, as the new District Chief Executive (DCE) for Keta to replace Mr Emmanuel Vorkeh who resigned the post recently.

Mr Ahiabor got 60 votes out of the 67 votes cast with seven against him, in a poll conducted by the Keta District of the Electoral Commission (EC).

The President withdrew Ms Gifty Ama Ayey, his first nominee following her rejection by the Assembly.

Mr. Ahiabor, who was the 2001 Best Farmer for Keta, thanked the members of the Assembly for the trust reposed in him and pledged to collaborate with members towards the develop of the area. Mr Kwasi Owusu-Yeboah, Volta Regional Minister, who sworn the new DCE into office expressed his satisfaction at the overwhelming approval of Mr Ahiabor.

He pledged his support for the new DCE and advised him to be open and transparent in his work. Others present at the session include Mr. Tommy Amematekpor, a Presidential Advisor, Ms Agnes Okudjeto, Second Vice Chairperson of the NPP and Ken-Wuud Nuworsu, Volta Regional Chairman of the party.
