Accra, Sept. 8, GNA - The principal elders and king makers of Nii Teiko Tsuru We of the Ga Royal Dzase on Thursday, annulled a resolution calling for the distoolment of the new Ga Mantse, saying those behind it were not accredited members of the royal house.
A statement signed by Nii Abbey, Secretary to the elders and king makers said, the group purporting to be representatives of the Teiko Tsuru We and Piam that signed the resolution had no standing at all in the royal house.
"Their action is therefore without merit and should be considered as false in all its forms," it said. The statement, which carried a counter resolution from the king makers and principal elders said the head of Nii Teiko Tsuru We, Nii Akropong III, had done nothing wrong that merited impeachment and that he would continue to perform his duties unimpeded. It said Teiko Tsuru We appointed Nii Akropong III as head of the family without the involvement of Piam, therefore, they (Piam) could not have a say on matters, which they have no right whatsoever. The statement ended that the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Tawiah III and his elders acknowledge the general leadership of the principal elders, the king makers and the pivotal position of Nii Akropong, as family head.
Numo Tete, the Nai Wulomo, the spiritual head of the Ga State installed on June 11, 2006 the New Ga Mantse, known in private life as Dr Jo Blankson. Two of the royal houses such as the Amugi We and Tachie Komey We, condemned the installation on grounds that the late Ga Mantse has not been buried. Besides, they claimed the new Ga Mantse was from the matrilineal lineage arguing that the succession to the throne was patrilineal.Accra, Sept. 8, GNA - The principal elders and king makers of Nii Teiko Tsuru We of the Ga Royal Dzase on Thursday, annulled a resolution calling for the distoolment of the new Ga Mantse, saying those behind it were not accredited members of the royal house.
