Kofi Buah donates to Axim fire victims

Deputy

Minister for Energy in charge of Petroleum, Mr. Emmanuel Kofi Buah, has donated

a sum of GH 10,000 to support victims of the recent Axim fire incident.

The package which was galvanized by his

outfit through contributions from the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and

Ministry of Energy has been presented to authorities of the Nzema East

Municipal Assembly to see to its disbursement.

The gesture is aimed at supporting the surviving

victims who suffered from various degrees of burns and are recovering at

various hospitals, to cater for their expenses.

According to him, he was touched and

greatly dismayed when news about a tanker truck which was offloading premix fuel

exploded leading to the instant death of four and twenty-five injuries, got to

him.

He added that his office was always

committed to the welfare of the people of the Western Region and would fight for

better opportunities to benefit all.

Mr. Buah who also doubles as the Member

of Parliament for the people of Ellembelle in the Nzema area of the Western

Region assured the people of more of such packages in the future.

The subsequent amounts, he stressed, would

be channelled to addressing the welfare of the deceased’s children and spouses.

He added that monies would also be made

available to strictly support the education of those who lost their lives as a

result of the disaster and appealed to other corporate organizations and

philanthropists to come to the aide of these young ones.

The people of Axim and its environs were

commended for the support offered to victims during and after the incidence.

Touching on more initiatives for all

across the country, the MP further assured of the Atta Mills governments’

commitment to quality and rapid developmental projects that would improve and

better the lives of all.

As the country prepares towards its

general elections in December, Mr. Buah implored all and sundry to remain

tolerant and accept each other’s views adding that unity is one of the best

tools for national growth.
