Kofi Kwei Circuit holds Teachers' Durbar

The Kofi Kwei Circuit of Ga South Municipality has held a durbar for teachers and education workers with the aim of bringing them together for socialisation and for deliberation on issues that will improve school performance.

The durbar saw in attendance over 80 teachers from Kofi Kwei Basic School, Odumprala Basic School, Obokwashie Basic School, Domefaase Basic School, Paanor Basic School, Fankyenekor Basic School and Twerebo Basic School.

Mr Joseph Sackey, the Circuit Supervisor, expressed gratitude to the teachers, head teachers and stakeholders for supporting schools in his circuit to deliver quality education and training to pupils.

"But for the support of teachers, head teachers and others, this circuit would not have reached where it is now. All I can say for now is that may the good Lord bless us all and continue to empower us to do more for our schools and pupils", he said.

He appealed to teachers to see themselves as members of a big family who must live together in unity for the benefit of the schools and pupils.

Mr Pius Fiakuna, a teacher and assembly member of the area, who chaired the function, urged his colleague teachers to continue to work hard and relate well with their communities in order to know the concerns of parents and stakeholders for possible interventions.

Mr Raymond Letsa Glover, the Ga South Deputy Director of Education, appealed to the teachers to be resourceful and professional in the performance of their duties.

He advised them to take advantage of the opportunities at their disposal to further their education and to add to their stock of professional knowledge and competencies.

"Make sure you perform your duties well as professionals and use the appropriate channel to seek redress for whatever grievances you may have. The office is ready to help you out of whatever challenge you face in the performance of your duties if you use the right channel,” Mr Glover said.

There were cultural and literary displays by pupils such as kpanlogo and recitation of poems and rhymes.
