Amasaman (GA), Sept. 20, GNA - Mr Edward Nii Krowey, Assembly Member for Kofi Kwei, near Amasaman in the Ga West District, on Sunday appealed to the Ministry of Health and the Ga District Assembly to establish a health post at Kofi Kwei, to serve the community and its environs.

Mr Krowey said because the lack of the facility in the area, coupled with the bad roads, residents have had to carry seriously sick persons on their shoulders before transporting them to the Nsawam Government Hospital or the Amasaman Clinic. The Assembly Member noted that citizens of the area lost their lives unduly, especially in serious cases, saying recently two pregnant women fell victim due to the non-availability of health facilities in the area.

He appealed to government and the Department of Feeder Roads to come to aid of the people who were pre-dominantly farmers to re-gravel their roads in the area.

He also assured the government and the District Assembly of the readiness of the people in the area to provide communal labour especially for the construction of the health post.
