Kpando District Assembly to resume pontoon service to Afram Plains

Kpando, June 18, GNA - The Kpando District Assembly is working towards the resumption of pontoon services between Kpando-Torkor and Afram Plains in the Eastern region. The assembly is holding meetings with some investors to consider the viability of the project for its commencement in a few weeks time. Mr Francis Ganyaglo, Kpando District Chief Executive, told the GNA in an interview that the aim is to promote business activities between the two towns as a way of generating revenue. Mr Ganyaglo said he was hopeful that the commencement of the pontoon services would offer jobs to young people in the area and improve their livelihood.

Mr Ganyaglo said he was hopeful that the commencement of the pontoon services would offer jobs to young people in the area and improve their livelihood. He said the Kpando District was also taking steps to attract more banking institutions in order to make credit more accessible to the small and medium businesses in the district. He said Kpando-Torkor, Kpando and Vakpo markets would also be re-vamped so as to increase the Assembly's revenue earning potentials.
