Kpando, April 6, GNA-Togbe Sasraku, Fiaga of Tsrukpe on Wednesday sought an explanation for what he perceived as official boycott of the Kpando district.
Speaking at the People's Assembly at Kpando he observed that President J.A. Kuffour, Vice-President Aliu Mahama, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, Minister for Regional Co-operation and NEPAD and the Inspector General of Police Mr Patrick Acheampong who were in the region on various occasions ignored the Kpando district.
"We want to know what we have done wrong", he said. Replying Miss Elizabeth Ohene, Minister of State in-charge of Tertiary Education said, "I could remember that the President and I were here sometime ago to meet the Chiefs and people at this particular place"; referring to venue for the People's Assembly.
"On another occasion the President was hooted at by the people and it is natural that when people do not welcome you when you visit them you do not feel safe going back to them", she explained.
Miss Ohene similarly told the People's Assembly at Kpeve in response to comments about the capitation grant and other developmental issues that, "if you do not like the horse at least you should not deny it the credit for its ability to run fast".
