Ms Helen Adjoa Ntoso, Volta Regional Minister on Friday, commissioned a District Police Headquarters at Krachi-Chinderi for the Krachi-Nchumuru District with a call for discipline among the youth in the District.

She said, “We are not happy about issues of indiscipline here and this facility must bring a change. I want the youth to be obedient so that none of them is put in cells here.”

Ms Ntoso commended the Krachi-Nchumuru District Assembly for the project worth GHC 173, 273 and was hopeful it would help reduce crime in the District.

She called for cooperation between the police and the community for peace to prevail in the area.

Nana Obrimpong Kanya II, Omanhene of Nchumuru Traditional area, lamented about “too much indiscipline” in the area, with people failing to attend communal labour, pay taxes, dishonest use of power and petty stealing.

He was also not happy about the “lukewarm” attitude of the Assembly towards the street naming exercise and the planning of the District and urged it to sit-up and turn the District into model one.

Mr Peterkin Gyinae, Volta Regional Police Commander said the construction of the District Police Headquarters was timely, and that, it would ensure orderliness and promote the rapid development of the area in a peaceful atmosphere.

The Regional Minister also commissioned other projects, including, 20 market sheds at Borae, a public toilet at Banda, a Community Health Planning Services (CHPS) compound at Zongo Macheri, a Nurses’ quarters at Grubi, a three-unit classroom block at Papatie and a Junior High School block at Bejamse, all in the Krachi-Nchumuru District.
