The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Samuel Sarpong has inaugurated a new six-unit classroom block for Krapa M/A primary school in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The project, valued at GHC450.000 was initiated and funded by GETFUND and would accommodate school children and teachers who for some time now had been studying in temporary structures.

Mr Sarpong said that the inauguration of the project showed how committed the government was towards ensuring quality education in the country, adding that the country’s development was based solely on providing good and quality education to the citizenry.

He therefore, appealed to teachers to adopt new technologies in teaching to ensure high performance was achieved to avert the falling standards of education in the country.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu-Juaben, Hon. Kwaku Afrifa Yamoah-Ponko, noted that the project would go a long way to enhance teaching and learning, thereby improving the academic performance of the pupils.

The Chief of Krapa, Nana Owusu Afriyie commended the government and the assembly for the initiative and hoped that more would follow suit and called on the people to maintain the project.

He however, appealed to the assembly to construct a wall around the school to prevent animals from causing harm to schoolchildren and also to rehabilitate the road from the school to link the main road.
