Krobo launches 75 million cedis development programme

The chiefs and people of Krobo in the Techiman District have launched a programme estimated at 75 million cedis to replace all worn-out electric poles in the town.

Launching the project, Mr Kofi Asamoah Abanaba, Assembly Member for Nana Akyeu electoral area, said about 150 concrete poles would be needed.

He said the project would be financed through a special levy of 25,000 cedis and 15,000 cedis on a man and woman respectively, resident in the town whilst non-residents would pay 30,000 cedis a man and 20,000 cedis a woman.

The Assembly Member urged the people to pay their levies promptly for the early completion of the project.

Mr Abanaba asked them to also pay their basic rates to avoid being prosecuted seek the advice of anti-bush fire squads when preparing new farms.

Nana Asa Akompanin, chief of the town and Kyidomhene of Techiman Traditional Area appealed to non-resident citizens to contribute generously for the uplift of the town.
