Krobos urged to vote for NPP

Dawatrin (E/R), June 3, GNA - The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Upper Manya, Mr Gustav Narh Dometey has called on the people of Manya Krobo and Yilo Krobo to vote massively for the NPP in the December elections for them to enjoy more benefits from the Government.

He said the successes chalked by the Government during its three-and-a-half years term of office was commendable. Addressing the people of Dawatrin, a farming village near Asesewa in the Manya Krobo District on Wednesday, Mr Dometey asked them to vote for him as the MP in December elections to enable them to get their share of the national cake, saying "it is always advisable to be in Government".

Mr Dometey, who is also the Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, said if voted into power, he would offer scholarship to needy pupils, provide potable water, give incentives to both teachers and pupils, who excelled in the academic field and provide farming inputs to farmers. He asked them to embrace the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) for better health delivery system.

Mr Dometey called for unity and advised them to settle their disputes amicably since litigation retarded progress.

MR Joe Sam, NPP Constituency Chairman, described as untrue, allegation by opponents of the NPP that the party was driving Krobos from Akan Lands.

He said the Party would win 60 out of the 90 polling stations in the constituency and urged them to vote for Mr Dometey. Pastor Eric Asare, the Assemblyman for the Dawatrin Electoral Area, appealed to the Government to extend electricity from Asesewa to other communities, sink boreholes and provide spraying machines for farmers. He also appealed for the upgrading of the Asesewa-Tafo and Asesewa-Afram Plains roads and the building of a clinic at Djaman.
