Kuano Presbyterian Junior High School in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region is in dire need of infrastructure.

The school has no classroom block and as a result, an old chapel of the Presbyterian Church is being used as a makeshift classroom for the form 2 and 3 students while the first year students study under a shed.

Teaching and learning hours are sometimes disturbed whenever the Church has activities to perform, Starrfmonline.com has gathered, as the plight of the school has been compounded by inadequate desks, teaching and learning materials and lack of computers for ICT practicals.

The infrastructure challenge in the school also extends to the Kindergarten with a population of 160 children studying under a pavilion with inadequate teaching and learning materials as well as chairs.

Speaking to Starr news’ Eastern Regional Correspondent, the Headmaster of the School, Odei Asare bemoaned the negative impact the chronic challenges of the school is having on delivery of quality education despite extra efforts of the teachers.

The Chief of Kuano, Barfuor Kofi Asante II, also expressed worry that the community has been neglected by government depriving it of basic social amenities such as befitting School infrastructure and potable drinking water.

Kuano Presbyterian School also serves three surrounding communities.
