A group of enraged youth in Kukurantumi, located in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region, has set the local police station ablaze following the alleged death of a suspect in custody.
The incident, which occurred earlier on Sunday, September 21, 2025, has sparked massive outrage, with many residents storming the police station to express anger and demand answers regarding the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s death.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement, but the incident has already triggered huge tension in the area.
Videos sighted by GhanaWeb on social media show a large number of youth surrounding the police station with a blaze emanating amidst the chaos.
