Kumasi, April 10, GNA- Hundreds of members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission on Wednesday, converged at the Missions Regional Headquarters at Asafo in Kumasi to welcome their counterparts from Burkina Faso. Their counterparts from Bourkina Fasso, who are on bicycles, are on their way to Pomadzi in the Central Region of Ghana to attend the Centenary Caliphate Ahmadiyya Convention. The over 270 young Ahmadis, with their luggage and spare bikes in a truck, were met on arrival by the elders of the Mission, youth groups and women Associations.
Welcoming them, Hafiz Ahmed J. Saeed, Third Deputy of the Ameer in Ghana was very happy that the Almighty God has guided and brought them safely to Ghana. Hafiz, who praised them for their efforts, noted that, "with oneness, the Mission could do more to exhibit spiritual sacrifices, discipline and commitment to the development of the Mission". Mr Alhassane Kere, a Missionary from Burkina Faso said about 2,000 Ahmadis from his country were expected to participate in the three-day Convention, which is to mark the 100 years of uninterrupted spiritual succession to the Founder of the Mission, Hazrat Murza Ghulam Ahmad, who died in 1908.
He said they would spend some days in Kumasi before continuing to Pomadzi for the African Convention, which would start on April 17. Alhaji Adams Dawoode, a National Executive member of the mission said three conventions would be held in connection with the Centenary celebration and that apart from that of Africa, two others would be held in the United Kingdom and India. He said Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the fifth, the Supreme Head of the Mission Worldwide, would attend the African Convention, before going to England in the UK for the second convention and also attend the final one in India.
