Kumasi, Feb 10, GNA - A two-day performance review meeting of the Kumasi Metropolitan Health Directorate to review the 2004 health activities opened in Kumasi on Thursday. Some 60 participants are attending it from the Ghana Registered Midwives Association, Ghana Registered Nurses Association, private doctors, pharmacists; diseases control officers, bio statisticians and representatives from private clinics, traditional rulers and the media.
Opening it, Dr Joseph Oduro, the Kumasi Metropolitan Director of Health Services, called on the participants to contribute effectively to the success of the meeting to improve on their performance. He called for positive and cordial relations between the private and the public health practitioners so that together they could provide quality health care. Dr Oduro said as health service providers their attention should be on client and patient relations and work assiduously towards that concept to provide client-focussed service at all times.
He stressed the need for closer collaboration and support from communities to enable health workers promote clinical, public and health support services at all levels. Dr Oduro called for the rehabilitation and construction of new facilities to attract people to the various health facilities in the metropolis.
