Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Ekumfi constituency, George Kuntu Blankson has announced his come back to contest for the Ekumfi constituency seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 general elections.

This was made known after the former MP picked his nomination forms on Thursday, 11th July, 2019 at the party’s constituency office at Esuenhyia in the Central Region.

Mr. Kuntu Blankson, if given the nod by the delegates of NDC will contest the incumbent MP Hon. Francis Kingsley Ato Codjoe in the 2020 elections.

Speaking in an interview with Atinka news, Mr. Kuntu noted that his comeback will help fix the many challenges the constituency is currently facing under the leadership of Hon. Francis Kingsley, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate of the constituency.

“No Member of Parliament (MP) has provided social amenities than the work I did in my era” he said.

He observed that his previous defeat has helped shaped his political career which will enable him facilitate the expected development in his constituency.

“I have corrected the flaws that led to my defeat in the previous parliamentary election in the constituency” he stated.

Mr. Blankson noted that some party executives sabotaged him in the previous primaries which according to him accounted for his lost in the previous elections.

“I didn’t lose the previous primaries but I was sabotaged by some party executives which resulted in my lost” he explained.

The former Member of Parliament continued “how can I be given a different voters list by these executives and would be expected to win the primaries?” he questioned.

Mr. Blankson urged the national democratic congress party (NDC) delegates of the Ekumfi constituency to have confidence and give him the chance to restore hope back to the constituency.

He however, said that the various development projects he did for the people in the past will boost his chances and further increase his electoral fortune in the 2020 general elections.
