Kwabre-East assembly confirms Mr Iddisah as DCE

Mamponteng (Ash), May 7, GNA - Members of the Kwabre-East District Assembly have confirmed the President's nominee Mr Adams Iddisah as District Chief Executive (DCE) in an election supervised by the Electoral Commission. He had 32 votes out of the 38 total ballots cast. The assembly also elected Nana Asurimi Gyekye as the Presiding Member after polling 31 votes out of the total ballots cast. Addressing the assembly after the elections, Madam Anima Wilson, Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, challenged the members to work with unity to accelerate development of the district. She congratulated the DCE and Presiding Member and urged them to be people-centred and not to politicise development projects. Mr Iddisah said he would work in close collaboration with the members to give meaning to the local government concept to realise the objectives of the government. 07 May 09
