Kwahu South improves BECE result

Mpraeso (E/R), Oct. 12, GNA - Seven-hundred-and-thirty-two out of 1,117 candidates who sat for this year's Basic School Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Kwahu South District passed. The figure represented 65.5 percent pass as against 59.4 percent recorded last year while 380 of the pupils failed the examination representing 34 percent. Nine out of the 42 schools who registered for the examination had 100 percent pass. This was contained in this year's BECE results released by the District Directorate of Education at Mpraeso and copied to the GNA. According to the release, five candidates made up of two boys and three girls failed to write the examination. Speaking to the GNA in an interview, the District Director of Education, Mr Abraham Adjetey Sowah, attributed this year's good performance to effective supervision by the circuit supervisors and the hardworking teachers in the district. 12 Oct. 11
