Kwamang SHS gets support for girls’ dormitory project

The Kwamang Presbytarian Senior High School (SHS) has been presented with a cheque for GH¢15,000.00 in support of the construction of a girls’ dormitory block.

This was a gift from the Kwamang Citizens Association, a charitable organization based in the United Kingdom (UK).

Mr. Kennedy Yaw Ampofo- Manu, its Chairman, said it was its contribution towards efforts at increasing girls’ enrolment in the school.

He said the association was determined to assist expand the infrastructure to provide more space for effective teaching and learning.

He invited people from the area resident outside to pull together to create a more academically-friendly environment to boost the performance of the students in the West African Senior School (WASSCE).

The Omanhene of Kwamang, Barima Ntori Nimpa II, applauded the association for the gesture and said it was a step in the right direction.

He said he was fascinated by the strong leadership and commitment to the development of the town by the association, citing its donation of a 50-bed capacity health centre with well-equipped laboratory to the people and asked that this was sustained.

Mr. Seth Boadu Kwakye, the Headmaster, said the gift would motivate the students and their teachers to work hard to raise academic performance.

He pledged to ensure that the money was used for the intended purpose.

He appealed to the Sekyere Central District Assembly and the government to help put into good shape the road leading to the school.
