Kwesi Amissah – Arthur Devalues NPP's World Bank into rural bank in E/R

The NDC yesterday showed that it had turned the NPP's claim that the Eastern Region which was their “World Bank” into a “rural bank”. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is convinced it can command 50% of all votes in the region noted as the second stronghold of the opposition NPP.

Mr. kwesi Amissah -Arthur , who is touring the Eastern Region a for three days , said: he was convinced that the large crowds in Nkawkaw which gave him a rousing welcome would give the NDC a massive win because of the numerous development projects that it had had undertaken in the area .

Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, in the Nkawkaw Constituency in the Eastern region which happens to be the stronghold of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).Addressing the crowd at the old Taxi station, called on the people of the area to vote massively for President Mahama to continue with his accelerated pace in development.

Mr Amissah- Arthur said “We are not here to sell the NDC to you, the Nkawkaw Zongo is NDC and so if we are here, we are home. We are only here to greet and pass through to propagate the gospel of the NDC to others that have not heard.

“Every government has done its part but ours surpass everyone’s. You are all witnesses to it so if [Mr Mahama] is seeking your mandate for another four years, let’s support him,” he stated.

He added: “We will not discriminate. The state resources will be shared equitably. Those in need of water will be provided with water whether they voted for us or not because they are also Ghanaians.

“If it is road infrastructure, it will not be done only in our strong holds but across board. … Since 1957, which government has brought development to the people of Ghana in four years than John Dramani Mahama? There is no government like that.”

The Vice President predicted that the governing NDC will win seven more seats in the Eastern Region at the December polls.

He called on the people of the area to vote massively for President Mahama to continue with his accelerated pace in development.

He said the objective of the NDC is to support the vulnerable and deprived to also climb the socio-economic development ladder. Adding that government is determined to collaborate with the people by equally distributing the national resources even to most parts of the country.

The Eastern region has 33 constituencies, 26 of which are currently being held by the opposition New Patriotic Party with the governing party managing only seven.

Touching on the performance of the John Mahama-led administration, the Vice President noted that “no government in our 4th republic can equal the track record of the NDC in the area of infrastructure development and economic boom.

On his part of the Sariki Zongo - Abdul Nasiru Osman lauded the NDC for its massive infrastructure development and called on others to vote massively for NDC because I tried and tested record of helping Zongos across the country the chiefs from across Nkawkaw.

The Saraki Zongo of Nkawkaw said in all fairness, the President deserves a second term to execute all his vision. Because the NDC and Zongos are family members, so they believe that giving him another term would help him to do better.

Also at a separate durbar in koforidua Chief Alhaji Ali Hamina Krumi IV the Zongo chief of Koforidua , he openly declared support for President John Mahama ahead of the December Presidential and parliamentary elections .

He described the works of President Mahama as unprecedented and encouraging. And that they are witnesses to the numerous development projects that has been undertaken by the NDC in the region. Saying the NDC has already won the elections.

Also speaking at the event, the Eastern regional chairman of the NDC Bismark Tawiah Boateng urged Ghanaians to retain the NDC come November since the party does not discriminate against individuals as exists in other parties.

The Vice President used the opportunity to introduce the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for the Nkawkaw constituency Tamimu Halidu to compliment the efforts of President Mahama in December 2016.

He reiterated that the NDC would ensure that this year's election was held in peace and declared that the NDC would win the 2016 December elections.

Vice President also paid a courtesy call on the Oyokohene who double as Adontenhene of New Juaben Traditional Area (NJTA) and addressed as mini durbar of people and also introduce the NDC candidate for New Juaben South Ransford Owusu Boakye to them so that they give him a massive win .
