Nana Asah Akompanin, also the Chief of Krobo said the donation formed part of the celebration of this year's annual Yam Festival of the traditional area. He said the elders and people of the area felt they should extend their seasonal well wishes to the children who were marginalized in society.

Nana Asah Akompanin quoted the biblical statement that "whatever one should do, it should be the best for others so that many may be saved". He said he and his people felt the children should also enjoy with them during this year's festival. He said as time went on there was the need for traditional rulers to modernize the old traditions and initiate new ideas that would bring improvement into the living standards of their people. He described Nana Asah Akompanin as a development oriented chief who had a good vision and foresight towards the welfare of other people and called on other traditional rulers to emulate his examples. Mr Godfrey Yupor, Headmaster of the school, was full of praises to the chief and said the donation was timely as the school has just reopened and needed food items to serve the children.
