Lancaster University signs MOU with Girls Education Initiative

The Lancaster University Ghana (LUG) has signed a partnership agreement with Girls Education Initiative Ghana (GEIG), to host the 2nd vacation class during the summer term at the LUG campus.

A statement issued in Accra by Mary Anne Amoah, Marketing Manager, LUG said the programme is aimed at providing academic support for girls, including applicants with special needs.

It said it would also transform and empower young women, poverty reduction and improving the overall development of the country.

The statement said participants would have access to LUG’s faculty, state-of-the-art classrooms, Information Technology Laboratory and library as part of the partnership.

It said the University would provide accommodation and transportation for the girls and volunteers to teach during their three- week vacation classes.

“Most importantly, LUG faculty will teach participants foundation and presentation skills courses,” it added.
