‘Let’s adhere to constitutional provisions on land’

Baffour Nyantakyi Tutu Boateng, Krontihene of the New Juaben Traditional Area, has urged stakeholders involved in land administration to strictly adhere to the provisions in the Constitution on Land Administration.

He explained that it was the only way to help resolve all the challenges facing Land Administration in the country.

Baffour Nyantakyi made the call at the launch of the Customer Service Access Unit (CSAU) of the Lands Commission in Koforidua .

He urged the Land Commission to address the challenges associated with the vested and customary land administration in the country.

Baffour Nyantakyi urged land administrators to be more transparent and accountable, to help reduce land litigation and conflict.

Mr Bakari Sadiq Nyari, National Chairman of the Lands Commission, pledged the determination of management and staff of the Commission to improve upon their service delivery, to help raise the image of the Commission.

He warned that the Commission would not hesitate to sanction any staff whose actions or inactions impacted negatively on the services of the Commission.

Dr Kwaku Owusu Acheampong, New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), called for effective land management, to ensure availability of land for Agriculture and commercial activities, to support the growth of the economy.
